Our story began back in 1999 – a time when bodybuilding wasn’t just a sport, it was a lifestyle. When gyms smelled like chalk and iron, striped Crazy Wear pants ruled the floor, fanny packs were the badge of serious lifters, and deep-cut tank tops revealed muscle that was earned the hard way – with blood, sweat, and zero excuses.

That was the golden era. Pure. Hardcore. No filters.
An era of heavy iron bending under pure determination and giants like Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates dominating the stage.
It was during this time that MADMAX was born – not just as a brand, but as a response to the fire of a community that demanded more. That deserved better.

Our founder lived that life. A part of the old-school scene, he started out as a photographer capturing every rep, every striation, every drop of sweat from the biggest bodybuilding events. His work was published in iconic magazines like Muscle & Fitness, Svět Kulturistiky, and Muscular Storm.
But unlike others behind the lens, he saw deeper – into the needs of the athletes. He listened to the best: the bodybuilders, fitness queens, and hardcore coaches who knew exactly what gear they needed to perform, push harder, and stay ahead.

That’s where it all started – the idea to create a brand by lifters, for lifters. Built on quality, focused on detail, tested in real-world grind. He brought inspiration and product concepts straight from the meccas of bodybuilding – California, Mr. Olympia, Arnold Classic – and turned them into bestsellers we still proudly offer to this day.
